Many would agree that the job market is improving and people are starting to look around for jobs that not only offer a good salary, but have a good benefits package and a supportive and motivational environment. Research conducted as part of our Cost of Brain Drain report showed that the cost of replacing an employee can average around £30K, making staff retention more and more important for employers.

A survey conducted by Financial Director on around 250 senior finance professionals found that over a third recognised staff retention as being the most important issue to address in the coming year. It also showed that the overwhelming majority felt that the responsibility for employee wellbeing was actually part of their role, illustrating the link between wellbeing and reducing turnover.
